(Whoopsie! I just corrected my spelling. I originally wrote Sneek Peak!!!)
From the very start, I’ve always wanted a custom soap stamp. I think it adds that extra touch to the look of the soap, and is a great way for branding and personalising.
Not withstanding the lack of a logo, I had a generic stamp made. These were some of my earlier soaps (they looked so rough!):
I used my “handmade” stamp for only a few months. This year, I had two new stamps made with my logo. One is for my all-natural line (will post about that in the future), and featured below, is the general all-around stamp.
The first few batches I stamped didn’t produce very clean impressions.
Then I remembered Modern Soapmaking’s tutorial wherein Kenna stamped her soaps immediately after cutting, and used a rubber mallet to whack the stamp. I didn’t think the mallet would make a big difference, but it did the trick! I only had a metal mallet, though. Thankfully, nothing happened to the stamp, even with its flimsy makeshift wooden handle.
Would you like to have your own custom soap stamp? 😀
My first soap anniversary is coming up this April 3 and I feel like celebrating! I’ve got two activities lined up: 1) an interview with an inspiring and talented soaper, and 2) a custom soap stamp give-away (open to soapers from all over the world!)
If you’re not yet following this blog, I’d like to invite you to follow through e-mail or Facebook, so you don’t miss a thing. Stay tuned! 😀
I love it! I’ve always loved stamped soaps, and I think yours look wonderful. The swirl underneath your name really makes it look polished 🙂
Thank you, Sharrie! 🙂
I’ve always wanted a custom stamp, but the thing is I still don’t have a professional logo. That’s what has been hindering me from ordering one. But, yours looks great, I love it. Where did you have it made? Locally, or via internet?
I can’t wait to see you’re up to next!
Arriving at a logo you’re totally happy with can be a long process. But as long as you have a name, you can change the design as you go along.
I had my stamp made just locally. I love the stamp, stamping, and the look it gives, that’s why I thought of doing this soap anniversary give-away to share my excitement! 🙂
The new soap stamp looks fab! I’m glad my little tutorial helped you! 🙂
Thank you, Kenna! I’m such a fan of yours. Thank you for the tutorial! The whacking made all the difference. 🙂
I stamp has been on my want list for awhile now. I just haven’t been able to justify the cost. Your stamp looks awesome! I’m also interested in where you had it made.
Hi Christine! Please join in the upcoming give-away contest. A free custom stamp might be yours very soon! 🙂
I had my stamp made locally. They don’t even have a website. Actually, I think any business that makes signages, trophies, and award plaques can make a soap stamp.
Here’s an early happy anniversary to you! It’s amazing what you’ve done in 11 months. Your stamped soaps look so nice and polished! I’ve never tried one. (That Peach Sunset is so beautiful!)
Aww, thank you, Amy! 🙂 Hopefully, the soap stamp luck will be with you for the upcoming contest, so you can try stamping soon! 🙂
Sneak peak, that’s funny! Is that like when you’re just about to crest over a mountain top? 😉
Happy early anniversary Silvia!! Your soaps were already so beautiful but with the stamp on it, it just takes it that next level.
Hahaha! I was so horrified when I saw the typo.
Thank you, Monica. 🙂
Your soap stamp looks so delicate with the swirl. I have never used a soap stamp and because I make soaps just for me and my family I don´t think I need them. But the soaps look much more “professional” when you stamp them.
A stamp is not necessary, but it’s fun, even if it’s just for personal use. 🙂 Please join the upcoming give-away contest. The stamp could be anything – a smiley face, a leaf, a word you like, etc. 🙂
I like both stamps Silvia! Soaps look so elegant and special. I am really impressed how you developed your soaping skills within one year! Looking at the pictures of your soaps made lately, with your custom stamp, I can only say that they are the most beautiful soaps I’ve seen lately. Congratulations and I whish you continuous progress in the future!
Thank you for your kind words, Gordana. I don’t know what it is about soaping. It is addicting and so satisfying. 🙂
I love your new stamp! Amazing what a difference a few whacks with a mallet can make. ;D Also congrats at nearing your 1 year anniversary!
Thank you, JV! Yes, the mallet absolutely makes a big difference! 🙂
Beautiful soap stamp, Silvia, and beautiful soaps!
Thank you, Jenny! 🙂
Love your new stamp. I agree a soap that is stamped looks so elegant.
Thank you, Darlene. 🙂
Beautiful, Silvia! Great choice!
And I adore your Citrus berry soap, purely gorgeous!
Thank you, Natalia! The Citrus Berry smells wonderfully bright and fresh, too. 🙂
Beautiful, simple and clean! Love it ❤️
Thank you, Tanya. 🙂
Congratulations in advance on your first soaping aniversary, Silvia!
Your soaps look beautiful and the stamp gives them that final touch which makes them look really special. All the soaps above look great but my favourite is Peach Sunset – I love the soft colors and gentle swirl!
Thank you, Maya. The original Peach Sunset I made was more orangey. This newest batch came out much paler, but I’m okay with it. 🙂
I love the stamp and how well they came out on the soap. I struggle with stamping my soaps! I think my bars may be a tad too soft because before you know it I have soap stuck to the surface of the stamp :(. Yours looks nice and clean! 🙂
You may need to give it a day or so before stamping. Have you tried using a mallet? I didn’t think it would make a difference, but it really does make a cleaner and better impression.
hello! (: i love these handmade soaps! the colour swirls and shapes are so artistic. i bet they smell amazing too! the citrus berry looks something like desserts we call ‘kuih’ here in Malaysia!
thank you for following my blog(: it means so much!
Thank you for following my blog, and I hope you’ll get interested in soapmaking, too! 🙂 I like your drawings and DIY projects. Looking forward to see what you’re up to next. 🙂
thank you for checking out some stuff on my blog (: i have a new painting coming up! yes, i am actually pretty interested as to how you go about it! i haven’t seen a blog dedicated to soaps and soapmaking, it’s so amazing that you have one!
Hi there, I really love your ‘Handmade’ stamp, it’s rustic looking! But your new stamp is beautiful too!
Thank you, Helen, and welcome to my blog. 🙂 Do you make soaps, too? It’s amazing what a difference a simple stamp can make. 🙂
Love the look of your soap. The stamp looks amazing too.
Thank you.:-)
